AI Readiness Assessment for Businesses
WHY AI READINESS MATTERS
Is your business actually ready for AI?
Every week there’s a new AI tool promising to transform your business. But buying software before your business is ready for AI is one of the most common and expensive mistakes we see.
AI readiness isn’t just about technology. It’s about whether your data is clean and accessible, whether your team has the capability to use AI effectively, whether your processes are designed to take advantage of it, and whether your leadership has a clear strategy for where AI should and shouldn’t play a role.
Our AI readiness assessment gives you an honest, structured view across all five dimensions — so you can stop guessing and start building with confidence.
OUR STANDARDS

WHAT WE ASSESS
The five dimensions of AI readiness for business
Data Readiness
Is your data accessible, clean, and structured enough to power AI? We assess data quality, governance, lineage, and whether your data infrastructure is fit for AI workloads.
Technology & Infrastructure
What tools, platforms and systems do you have in place? Can they support AI integration? We evaluate your tech stack, integration points, and cloud or on-premise setup.
People & Capability
Does your team have the skills to use, manage and interpret AI? We assess current capability, identify training gaps and evaluate your capacity to build or buy the skills you need.
Process & Operations
Are your business processes documented and consistent enough to automate or augment with AI? We identify where AI can reduce manual effort and where process design needs to come first.
Strategy & Governance
Is there leadership buy-in for AI? A clear vision for where it fits? Policies around ethics, privacy and risk? We assess strategic alignment and governance maturity across the organisation.

HOW WE WORK
A structured AI readiness audit built for business
Discovery Call
We start by understanding your business — your goals, your current systems, and where you think AI could play a role. No assumptions, no pre-packaged answers. This is a proper conversation about what matters to you.
Assessment & Audit
We conduct a structured review across five domains: data, technology, people, process and strategy. We speak to the right people, review your systems and documentation, and build an honest picture of your current state.
Scoring & Gap Analysis
Each domain is scored against a clear framework. We identify where you have genuine AI readiness, where the gaps are, and what those gaps mean for your ability to deliver value from AI investment.
Roadmap Delivery
We present your AI readiness report and walk you through a prioritised roadmap — what to tackle first, what to defer, and what the investment looks like to get where you want to go.
WHO IT'S FOR
Who needs an AI readiness assessment?
Our AI readiness audits are built for organisations at one of three moments:
Before you invest in AI
You're evaluating AI tools or platforms and want to know whether your business is genuinely ready to get value from them — or whether there's foundational work to do first.
After a failed or stalled AI initiative
You've tried AI — a pilot, a tool, a proof of concept — and it didn't deliver. You need to understand why and what needs to change.
As part of a broader digital transformation
AI is one part of a larger technology or capability uplift. You need an honest AI-specific baseline to inform your roadmap and investment decisions.

What is an AI readiness assessment?
An AI readiness assessment is a structured review of your organisation’s current ability to adopt, implement and get value from artificial intelligence. It evaluates your data, technology, people, processes and strategy against a clear framework and identifies what needs to be in place before AI investment will deliver results.
How is an AI readiness audit different from a general technology audit?
An AI readiness audit is specifically designed around the conditions required for AI to succeed in a business context. While a general technology audit might review your systems and security posture, an AI readiness audit goes deeper into data quality, model governance, capability gaps and the strategic alignment needed to extract business value from AI — not just whether your infrastructure is functional.
How long does an AI readiness assessment take?
For most organisations, the assessment takes two to four weeks from kick-off to final report delivery. Larger, more complex organisations with multiple business units or legacy systems may require additional time. We scope the engagement clearly before we start.
What does the output look like?
You receive a written AI readiness report with a domain-by-domain scorecard, a gap analysis, and a prioritised roadmap. We walk you through the findings in a presentation session and answer questions from your leadership team before you receive the final documentation.
Do we need to have started with AI for an assessment to be useful?
No. Many of our clients come to us before they’ve made any AI investment at all — and that’s often the best time to do an assessment. Getting clarity on your readiness before committing to tools or platforms saves time, money and frustration
How is AI readiness for business different for SMEs versus large enterprises?
The five domains are the same, but the benchmarks and expectations are different. SMEs often have advantages in agility and decision speed but may face gaps in data infrastructure and dedicated AI capability. We calibrate our assessment framework to your organisation size and industry so the findings are practical, not aspirational.
Can you help us implement the roadmap after the assessment?
Yes. We offer implementation support across data, Power BI reporting, AI automation and team training as separate engagements. Many clients use the assessment as the starting point for a broader On Report partnership.
